I remember my first experience of using a SLR was about 10+ years ago. My father own a Nikon F3 with a Nikkor 24mm f2.8 prime, and a push-pull zoom-Nikkor 35-105mm. With his permission, I took the small dry box containing the gears from him and started playing with it photography. Still a student then, I learned about photography through the F3 manual, and seek advice from some of my friends who were also into photography. Taking photo is the best way to learn, but I do not have the luxury of experimenting too much since film isn't cheap, and developing a 36-shot row would cost around RM30 (I think) for 3R prints, not to mention not all shots are good. gps4cam: Geotagging with your iPhone

Back when I was very active in photography, geo tagging photos was a very new concept. The idea of is to embed the longitude and latitude position into the metadata of the photos, so that you can lookup where the photo were taken. It is kind of cool as software and services begin to appear which allow viewing your photos by location on a map, instead of by albums which you organize by yourself. There were about 3 methods that I know to tag the photos. Manual Tagging As the name implies, tagging is done by using a software that brings up a map interface (typically relied on Google maps)for you to pin point the location where you taken those photos. This is done only at then end of the post processing workflow. One manual tagging method that I used before is from Flickr. Street Photography with Panasonic LX3

It's been 4 months since I sold my DSLR, Nikon D300. Although without it, I'm finding myself shooting even more photos now than before with my Panasonic LX3. Finally, I'm doing what I suppose to be doing, enjoying photography and capturing more photos on my friends and family. Overall, this transition has been going well for me. On top of that, I've been bringing this camera around Kuala Lumpur on a few occasion for some street photography, together with my photography buff friends, just for fun. Two main area that we visited is around Petaling Street, the other is at Pudu. It's definitely more suited for the job, as it's small and being able to be discrete.
