I was in Paris in October 2008 for a few days stopping over from Germany and will head over to Scotland from here. The following photograph of the iconic Eiffel Tower was taken on a Sunday morning around 10am at Rue Saint-Dominique street, just outside of my hotel entrance. Saint-Dominique street is located at the 7th Arrondissement in Paris. Apparently, Paris is segregated to 20 Arrondissements , or area. A 20-minutes walk along this street will lead you to Champ-de-Mars , the large park where Eiffel Tower is located. Being close to the heart of Paris, this area gives me a sense of class, as the shops seems to be catering for upper class residents (at least, that's what I think). The MyPhotoBooks program supplied by www.photobook.com.my is a great application for designing beautiful photo album for printing. However, I was frustrated over the limited (or nil) configuration and technical capability of the program. For example, when you add a photo located in your hard drive, MyPhotoBooks program does not copy the file, but only make a reference to it. Therefore, if you're working on an album half way and need to change the location of your source photo files, there's no settings which allow an update of the location of the photo files. Does that mean you have to re-add all those photos again from the new location? Fortunately, there's a workaround. All albums created using MyPhotoBooks are saved as [album name].phb file in C:\Documents and Settings\[User]\.PhotoBook\books\ . These phb files are in XML format, and contains all the layout design done from the MyPhotoBooks program, including the full file path of each photo you've added into your a...

I remember my first experience of using a SLR was about 10+ years ago. My father own a Nikon F3 with a Nikkor 24mm f2.8 prime, and a push-pull zoom-Nikkor 35-105mm. With his permission, I took the small dry box containing the gears from him and started playing with it photography. Still a student then, I learned about photography through the F3 manual, and seek advice from some of my friends who were also into photography. Taking photo is the best way to learn, but I do not have the luxury of experimenting too much since film isn't cheap, and developing a 36-shot row would cost around RM30 (I think) for 3R prints, not to mention not all shots are good. Eventually, I stopped due to cost, and my studies. I was reintroduced back into photography about 3 years ago through a colleague.
